When placing chairs around a dining table, note that:

• A compact arrangement allows for 13 cm / 5.1" between chairs and approximately 60 cm / 23.6" from the center of the chair to the next chair.
• A spacious arrangement allows for 25 cm / 9.8" between chairs and approximately 75 cm / 29.5" from the center of the chair to the next chair.

Dining Space Requirement

Dining space requirements are as follows:

• A single dining arrangement calls for 60x40 cm / 23.6"x15.7" space per person for compact seating or 75x45 cm / 29.5"x17.7" for a more spacious layout.
• The distance from the corner of the table to a seat and dining arrangement should be 22-40 cm / 8.7"-15.7".

Dining Table Circulation

Circulation around a dining table is key for comfortably dining:

• The minimum clearance for a chair in front of a dining table should be 70 cm / 27.6": 40 cm / 15.7" for comfortable seating and another 30 cm / 11.8" for a chair to pull in and out.
• Circulation around a dining table may overlap with the 30 cm / 11.8" chair pull. In this case, provide a minimum of 75 cm / 29.5" or a more spacious 90 cm / 35.4" clearance behind the dining chair.

When planning a living space's layout, refrain from creating a division between the kitchen and dining area to ensure a smooth and convenient flow, allowing for functional connectivity and harmony within your living space.
