Announcing Rayon's €10 million Series A

We are excited to announce today that we have raised €10 million in Series A funding, led by Partech, with continued backing from Northzone, Foundamental and Seedcamp. This new chapter comes as we cross 4 million drawings created in Rayon and grow to a team of 35 people, united by the same ambition: making great design tools accessible to everyone shaping interior spaces.

Five years ago, we started Rayon with a simple belief: designing spaces should be easier, more collaborative, and more enjoyable. Since then, seeing our users turn that belief into real projects has been the most rewarding part of the journey. From independent studios to teams designing hotels, restaurants, offices and airport lounges, millions of drawings now tell the story of what people can build with better tools. Today, we are taking the next step, at a moment when AI is opening up an entirely new set of possibilities for our discipline.

Interior design's AI moment

For anyone working in interior design, the pace of progress in AI has been hard to miss. Generating a convincing image of a room now takes seconds. Exploring a mood, a material palette or a lighting idea has become dramatically more accessible. And as models become better at understanding geometry and carrying out increasingly complex tasks, their role in the design process will keep growing.

We believe this is an exciting moment for designers. More ideas can be explored, more options can be tested, and less time needs to be spent on repetitive work. It opens up room for the things that make a project worth pursuing in the first place: understanding how people live, finding the right atmosphere, and making thoughtful decisions about a space.

Bringing these capabilities into everyday practice, however, takes more than generating a beautiful image. A project has dimensions, constraints, specifications and countless decisions that need to hold together. Designers need to be able to shape what AI produces, refine it with precision, and work on it with their team.

We see the drawing as the place where all of this comes together.

A Series A to build the drawing layer

Over the past five years, we have been hard at work building a fast, precise and collaborative drawing environment in the browser. Plans, styling, specifications and schedules live together in Rayon, giving teams a shared place to develop their projects, from the first layout to the details needed for execution.

That foundation matters even more as AI enters the picture. A drawing carries the geometry and information that make a project understandable and editable. It gives designers a way to guide AI, inspect its work, and keep control of the result as their ideas evolve.

Our ambition is to make Rayon the drawing layer for interior design's AI era: the place where designers and AI can work together on real projects. We want to bring intelligence directly into the drawing experience, while staying connected to the AI tools our users already enjoy working with.

This new funding will help us accelerate that work, bring 3D into Rayon, and reach more of the people designing spaces around the world. The round also arrives alongside a set of releases aimed at democratizing access to capabilities that CAD has historically kept gated: a mobile-first version of the software to view projects, a new presentation mode and sharing drawings with clients in the room, and an expanded template library. Together, these releases will help us serve more of a nearly €50 billion industry that has remained underserved for too long.

A few words on Rayon V4

Much of what we have been working towards will come together in V4, arriving later this year.

First, 3D is coming to Rayon! Bringing another dimension into the same collaborative environment will open up new ways to develop, understand and share a design. We want moving between a plan and a spatial view of a project to feel like a natural part of the drawing process.

V4 will also bring a broader set of AI capabilities into the app, spanning generative tools, AI-powered workflows, and agentic AI that can help carry out tasks within a project. Our goal is to make these capabilities useful throughout the design process, helping users move from an idea to something they can keep working on.

There is a lot more to share, and we look forward to showing you what we have been building. Through all of these changes, our focus remains the same: making a powerful design tool feel simple and approachable.

Building this product has brought together an extraordinary group, with a shared care for design, engineering, and the small details that make software enjoyable to use.
